Break Away From
The Pack...

Running is frequently an individual sport. Everyone derives something different from the act of running. In turn, each individual has their own personal running goals.

My focus is on enabling and empowering individuals to achieve and exceed their personal running goals.

Group Training Programs 2008

Accelerate

Looking for an outdoor crosstraining/fitness program to round out your running training? Accelerate could be for you!

'Accelerate' is designed to help runners address areas that are critical for running performance AND injury risk reduction, but are often neglected. Accelerate is designed for, but not limited to runners.

The program combines agility drills, strength stations, and core stability to keep your body in peak condition. Each day will involve a short warmup that includes jogging, stretching and some yoga flow to wake your muscles and mind in the morning.

While Accelerate will involve running, the main focus is not on running itself, but on conditioning for stability, core strength, and agility. All of the aforementioned are CRITICAL for running well and reducing risk of running related injuries/aggravations.

Accelerate IN THE MARINA launches on April.21, 2008 AT 6AM! Click HERE for more details and online registration for ACCELERATE IN THE MARINA!

Group Training/Fundraising Programs 2008

Looking to train AND contribute to a GREAT cause? While TNT and The National AIDS Marathon Training Program are wonderful organizations that help great causes, there are a MYRIAD of EXCELLENT local causes that need our help too!

In 2008, there are a plethora of great training/fundraising programs I'm assembling for organizations such as Larkin Street Youth Services, Hands on Bay Area, Edgewood Center for Children and Families, Vegan Outreach, YMCA of San Francisco and numerous others! Read on for the details!

Upcoming Training/Fundraising Programs

Marathon Matt is partnering with several non-profits in 2008 to launch running/fundraising programs that benefit their respective cause:

-Think College Now launches Team TCN, a half marathon training/fundraising program with Marathon Matt in May 2008.

-Larkin Street Youth Services launches Team Larkin Street, a half marathon training/fundraising program with Marathon Matt in May 2008.

-Edgewood Center for Children and Families launches Team Edgewood, a half marathon training/fundraising program with Marathon Matt in August 2008.

Unlike other training/fundraising programs which often require participants to raise several THOUSAND dollars, my programs rarely require participants to raise more than $1300!

If you're looking for a nice amalgamation of fitness and philanthropy, I'd encourage you to check one of the aforementioned programs out.

If you work for a non-profit and are interested in raising money for your cause, email Matt for more details about a custom running program to benefit your cause.

Matt's training program gives me the right combination of inspiration, near term goals, and long term focus to keep me engaged.

His coaching allowed me to exceed even my ambitious target finish time for my last half-marathon.

Matt is a clear communicator, knowledgeable in the sport, and keeps even the hardest workouts light and fun.

All in all, Matt has made a real difference in my running and fitness!
